Instruction during the 2020/21 academic year primarily will be held online from our home studio in Toronto. Our current setup for piano lessons on Zoom utilizes an acoustic piano, as well as dual camera angles using a desktop computer as well as a smaller iPad to capture an overhead video of the keyboard. This enables easy back-and-forth play between teacher and student and provides the benefit of another visual dimension. Students who prefer FaceTime or Skype will receive the same level of instruction, using a single camera angle.

Occasional in-person instruction may be offered in 2020/21 during the warmer months of the academic year. Six in-person dates are scheduled to be offered on Saturdays in September and October. All in-person meetings will take place in either the spacious Common Room or Sanctuary at St. Stephen’s on-the-Hill United Church in Mississauga (Lorne Park). We also aim to offer a number of in-person lessons in the springtime. The possibility of in-person lessons is dependent upon several factors. More information on the procedures for in-person lessons is given on the policies page, which is accessible to currently enrolled students and their families.

Updated December 26, 2020: All Saturday in-person lessons will instead be delivered remotely until further notice owing to the province-wide lockdown. Details will be emailed in the coming days. https://www.peelregion.ca/coronavirus/public-health-measures/#events
